Stories
New Beginnings
The high delinquency in Jalisco made it difficult for Carina’s family to make any advances. After making the difficult decision to leave everything behind in their hometown, Carina and her family put down new roots in Tijuana.
Refuge from the storm
There wasn’t enough space for Ramon’s family of 7 to all sleep in the same place, an abandoned room made of clay, so he and his wife slept in a cave underneath it. They had no other option, until they received their new home from Amor.
Susana’s Story
The only thing that separated Susana’s children from human trafficking was a blanket. When she was about to give up, hope knocked at her door.
“Never, never stop building homes.”
These were the words spoken to us as Amor founder Scott Congdon was introduced to Maria through this photo, years ago. This is her story, one that we will never forget.
Meet the Mendiola Solovio Family
Adelaida saved for years, hoping to be able to one day buy a home. She shares how their new Amor house will allow her to start a new life with her daughters.
Meet the Jimenez Rubio Family

Meet the Chavez Bojorquez Family
After her accident, Maria had a difficult time getting in and out of her old home, a trailer lifted off the ground. Thank you to Boulder Valley Christian Church for making a new home possible for Maria.
Meet the Carrillo Murrieta Family

Meet the Dominguez Acuña Family
