Baja/Sonora/Chihuahua:
A Complete House Sponsorship in the border areas of Baja/Sonora/Chihuahua is $4,000, and allows our team in Mexico to continue to serve local families and pastors throughout the year, whether or not Amor is hosting trip participants. Families receiving homes are selected by local pastors, and each sponsored house has the added benefit of being able to create short-term jobs for up to 14 local laborers. All materials are purchased locally. The impact of a Complete House Sponsorship goes well beyond the family receiving a home, it has an impact that has a positive effect on the entire community.
Yucatan Peninsula:
A Complete House Sponsorship in the Amor Yucatan Peninsula is $6,000 and helps more than just the family receiving the home. Families receiving homes are selected by a group of local pastors and community leaders in Leona Vicario, and Amor Yucatan Peninsula employs 6 local workers to build homes through the building season of January to August. They are paid a flat amount each week for the work; they are paid well above the minimum wage and is a livable wage to support their families. Most of the building materials are purchased from the local hardware store in the village.
