Why the Amor Trip?

My favorite explanation when people ask the question, “Why the Amor Trip?”, is this: There’s no other short term, international mission trip where you can accomplish so much in such a short period of time, that has the biggest impact on both the giver and the recipient.

I went on my first Amor Trip twelve years ago. I was blown away by how impacted I was by the fellowship, the emotions of the key ceremony, seeing God alive in the faces of family we were serving, and all of the God sightings that we saw at work site every day. I was so moved by the experience that it convinced me to give my life to Christ as my Lord and Savior. I’ve been coming back every year since then to renew that commitment and rededicate myself to Christ. It’s my way of giving back to God and giving thanks for the multitude of blessings Christ is constantly showering on me.
