Meet the Rico Aceves Family
Roman and his family live in the “El Mirador” community of Tecate, Mexico. They were selected by pastor Oscar Higuera to receive their home. Roman lives with his wife (Elvira), three sons (Adrian, Carlos and Armando) and one daughter-in-law (Alejandra). Roman works in construction and earns about $162 per week. His two oldest sons also work in construction and each earn about $70 per week. They are living on land that they are making payments on. They have access to running water and electricity, and were living in a one room structure that has two small rooms. Their old home was made of brick and wood but a fire destroyed a majority of the home, especially the roof.
With their new home, they now have more space, security and better living conditions overall. When a new home is built, it helps the family spend their earnings elsewhere, rather than buying new building materials for their current home. Thank you to First Community Church of Columbus for making their new home possible!
