Amor YP exists to help families in Puerto Morelos and the broader Yucatán Peninsula to not only survive but thrive — spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and relationally.
Supporters can designate donations specifically to Amor YP’s education and sports programs which operate year-round within the local community.

When Jordan and April Congdon arrived in Puerto Morelos in 2016, they believed that an immediate way to have an impact was by offering an excellent sports program for the youth in the community. Over the last 10 years, the Puerto Morelos Tortugas sports programs offered multiple sports: American football, baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, and track. Our youth sports program has since developed into the Puerto Morelos Tortugas Academia de Beisbol and Rebaño Chivas Puerto Morelos, an official school of the professional soccer team Chivas Guadalajara.
Today, 90+ children and teens (ages 4–18) participate in baseball and soccer. Our dedicated coaching staff creates a sport environment where any young person can learn the values of perfect effort, discipline, and commitment, and families are welcomed into a space committed to the holistic development of their children on and off of the field — opening ongoing opportunities for mentorship and faith formation.

While starting the sports program, the Amor YP team immediately assessed a need to support the education of the youth involved in our programs. In the first years, this involved offering English classes and tutoring. It later developed into starting a high school with Yucatan Peninsula Mission in the city of Leona Vicario, as well as starting our own childcare and school, En Su Imagen.
At En Su Imagen Childcare and School (ESI), our teaching team provides early childhood learning to create strong foundations for lifelong learning as well as pre-school and primary education. Today, ESI offers up to 3rd grade; and in the coming years, our goal is to be a fully functioning childcare, pre-school, primary and secondary Christian school that not only offers an excellent bilingual education but also trains students in the ways of Jesus and the Kingdom of God.

Over the years, the Amor YP team has played a diversity of roles within our community – coach, teacher, pastor, evangelist, house builder… the list goes on. We are continually asking God, “what do you want us to do?”
While doing this, we sensed a need for a community of faith to begin as families involved in our programs asked to study the Bible and wanted to get to know Jesus. By the grace of God, friends moved to Puerto Morelos and took on the charge of planting and helping grow a local church, one that many of our staff are a part of. This has allowed us at Amor YP to better fulfill our role – not as a church, but as a group of people involved in the local church doing our part to serve families in our community. In this capacity, we get the opportunity to engage with families that would have never gone to a church service or Bible study, but will bring their kids to a school offering an excellent education or to the field so their kids can play the sport they love. From here, we get to offer a fresh perspective of Jesus and His church, and invite them to be a part of the community that we are a part of as well.

Monthly donations go toward curriculum and books for our students, building development and maintenance, equipment and uniforms for Tortugas baseball players and Chivas soccer players, salaries for our teachers and coaches, and much more.
