Trip Details
Amor Co-Founder, Gayla Congdon, created Women of Strength to establish a network for women from all around the world to come together and build meaningful connections with different communities in South Africa. This trip provides an opportunity to build a home alongside a family while participating in an impactful outreach program. You’ll learn about the local culture and history through cultural exchanges, sharing meals, and adventurous excursions. Ultimately, we show that when women come together to serve, everyone is stronger.
Emergency Medical Travel Insurance is required, and Amor highly recommends you also purchase ticket travel insurance for your trip. We can provide you with some good options we have used in the past.
Location: Delmas, South Africa (You will fly into Johannesburg, South Africa)
Price: $2000.00. This is an all-inclusive price from Johannesburg, South Africa. Airfare to and from Johannesburg is not included in this price, and is scheduled and paid for by participants.

How to Register:

Step 2: Submit your participation form (longer form) here* and pay your $200 deposit. You can pay online here or mail a check.
Step 3: If applicable, complete a background check**.
Step 4: Pay your remaining balance. Full payment schedule is listed in the Welcome Packet (page 11) below. You can pay online here or mail a check.

**Anyone who is 18 years old and older will need to complete a background check prior to this trip. The exception to this is if we have run a background check on you within the last 5 years. You will receive instructions on this process via email.

Day 1: Arrive in Johannesburg – Orientation and settle in
Day 2: Orientation + training + team building + local store visit
Day 3: Build Day 1 and PAD prep
Day 4: Culture Excursion: Soweto Tour
Day 5: Church Day + The Almond Tree/Baby House
Day 6: Build Day 2 + Community Outreach/PAD Project
Day 7: Build Day 3 + Community Outreach/PAD Project
Day 8: Culture Excursion – Lion Park
Day 9: Build Day 4 + Community Outreach/PAD Project
Day 10: Finish build, House Dedication + Celebration
Day 11: Breakfast, clean up, and depart for airport
