Honoring Gayla’s Legacy
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Amor’s Co-Founder, Gayla Congdon. Gayla moved from Life to Life on February 7th, 2025 surrounded by her dearest loved ones.
As we mourn her passing, we acknowledge and celebrate Gayla’s indelible impact. Her deep desire to see people united to share God’s love has created a legacy of thousands of lives forever changed. Hers was a remarkable race, truly well-run. Thank you, good and faithful servant!

Celebration of Life Details
Date: Sunday, April 27
Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: Mission Church of the Nazarene
4750 Mission Gorge Pl, San Diego, CA 92120
No RSVPs are required, but seating is limited; we kindly ask that you arrive early. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be streamed online here, allowing everyone to participate in the celebration.
Dress Code: In honor of Gayla’s vibrant spirit, we encourage everyone to wear an Amor t-shirt, a Disney t-shirt, or something colorful. Let’s celebrate her life of color, fun, and love!
After the Service: Gayla loved storytelling and gathering people for celebrations. We invite you to stay after the service to share your memories of her over one of her favorite foods, tacos. This will be a wonderful time to connect with others whose lives were touched by Gayla as we celebrate her amazing life.
