Meet the Mendiola Solovio Family
Guadalupe and her family live in the ‘Nueva Esperanza’ community of Puerto Penasco, Mexico. They were selected by pastor Carlos Adame to receive their home. Guadalupe lives with her daughter, son-in-law and seven grandchildren. Guadalupe suffers from epilepsy and is unable to work outside the home. Her daughter Adelaida works at a pharmacy and earns about $54 per week. Adelaida’s husband Federico works various jobs and earns about $108 per week. Four of the children are enrolled in school. In Mexico, they have to pay for enrollment fees, uniforms and school supplies in order to attend even the public schools. As a child gets older, the more expensive it will become.
Their old home was a small trailer and another Amor-style home. Due to the size of their family, they were in need of more space and privacy. Their new home will allow them to spend money on their family’s health/medication and continue to help them put money towards their children’s education instead of building materials for more space. Thank you to Crossroads Church for sponsoring this house and making this possible!
